In my first data science internship, I got asked by a senior software engineer who was my internship mentor:

"I want you to connect to our databases using Python."

"I don't know. How?", I asked

"I will not tell you.", the senior replied.

I was embarrassed at that time. Did the senior really want me to learn that way? Shouldn't the senior give any pointer so that I can start with it? I got disappointed and a few days later I sort of got fired from that internship! The internship was supposed to be 2 months long but got called, after around a 1.5-month period, by the CEO who told me, "Today is your last day, Ezz."

Not to mention the toxicity of that senior when giving no credit to me in some other cases. The notorious no planning of that startup at that time is just another story.
